Some tips on personal sites

Cool thing about personal sites and blogs is that you can be as unapologetic and as personal as you like. You don’t have to be realistic or even reliable, unlike how you should be on professional and commercial sites. Anyway, here are a few tips or notes on hosting and domain names just in case you feel the need to establish a personal site:

You may use your own domain name if you do not mind paying for the hosting fees since it may help in maintaining that individual feel to your site. Another advantage of course is the more liberal bandwidth allotment just in case you plan to upload a huge amount of images and videos.

But it wouldn’t be a crime if you make use of free web hosts. They’re not only free but they are also a lot easy to maintain if you don’t have much (or even no) background in web design and development. This is a good idea for the beginners. After all, you may get a paid host eventually when you get the hang of it.

Keeping it real

February 18th, 2009 by rain09angel

One of the most important things you should remember in web publishing is to always have original content. Plagiarism is frowned upon, and only results in your website obtaining a bad reputation, which will eventually kill it in the long run.

If you aren’t confident about making your own content, then you can enlist someone else to do your writing for you. Just make sure that any content submitted to you – or even the stuff you write yourself – passes a plagiarism checker to see whether your content has already been published on the web.

Besides, people always love reading original content, and as long as you keep posting something new regularly, people are bound to come back because it’s something they won’t find anywhere else.

Many people start with an internet business hoping to make a fortune within the shortest possible time. The reality is, it doesn’t happen that way. Especially during the first half year. Newbies are often fooled into believing that certain software applications will make them millions in no time. Well in fact, most of these programs do not work. People tend to expect too much or get disillusioned with big bucks without acquiring proper knowledge on how to deal with online marketing trends. Many people often try their luck in online business without having a clear goal and a wise strategy. They tend to think unreal expectations like making $20,00 dollars in just a month, while they only spend a few hours working for it.
Newcomers should always keep in mind that the first step to make is to make sure you have good content on your website. Relevance always counts. Try to think of anything that spawns your inner artistry. Make your site as attractive as it can be. Not forgetting that a good content is the key to slowly building your own online business.

THE PHP BASIC

PHP. The best web programming language that I have ever encountered and used. It provides you a server-side technology and hides the real codes to the viewer of the site. Once the guests view the source code, all that will appear is the html of the code. They will not know all the loops and if-else statements that your program has.
The first thing to do is to declare the scripting language. There are three ways to declare it. The first one is the way that you declare other language: the first one is

Content Development

Probably easy if you haven’t started to deal with it, but trust me, it can be quite difficult to constantly think of various ways to present content. By content we mean information. This can be information that you already have or information that you have yet to add.

If you’re quite the creative writer, then by all means do your own writing. This is not exactly a problem if you are keeping a personal site. But if you are running a commercial site, then it’d be better to hire a word smith. Whatever information (may it be text or graphics) you put on your site is a marketing tool for whatever product or service you are selling. Everything should present a concise and cohesive image that would embody not only your website but your company as well.
